If you are also among those getting irritated by the pop up display of  Open with dialogue comes up every time you double click on any drive then you can follow some small steps mentioned below to get rid of this situation. Though it is some tricky to follow but if you being little cautious while editing then you can easily tackle the situation(However in the end you can also get a small tool to help you to get rid of the problem).

Let’s start with it… First let me tell you the virus behind this mishap. Hacked By Godzila is the virus name which gives all these errors and sometimes it also cause explorer window to show a title as Hacked by Godzila. This virus usually come when we use pen drives containing the virus.

Now to remove this virus

1. Open my computer or explorer and from the tools menu click on folder option.

2.  From the window popups go to View tab and locate and click on the option”Show Hidden files and folders” and uncheck “Hide extension for known files types”, This is a very useful tip and you can also use it if you received any file from any of your clients or wants to know what is the extension of any existing file.

3. Now open windows task manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and locate “wsscript.exe” (you may click on image tab above the processes to sort the running application by name) and click “End Process”. Close Windows task manager.

4. Now open the search window to search autorun.inf files  containing text “MS32DLL.dll.vbs” (While searching you can use the search string in the text bar containing “A word or phrase in the file” thus minimizing your efforts to find the targeted file) and delete them all.

5.  This step is now to modify your registry but before you do this plz take a back up your registry. To open registry editor type “regedit” in the run command(windows key + r) and press enter.

6. select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE –> Software –>Microsoft –>Windows –> Current Version –> Run.

find there “MS32DLL” and delete that entry.

7. If you have completed the above step  look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER –> Software –> Microsoft –> Internet Explorer –> Main and from their find “Window Title “Hacked by Godzilla”” and you should delete that entry. You can close the registry now.

8. Now once again click for run command using Start –> Run and type in “gpedit.msc” and press “Enter”, doing so will open the “Group Policy” in which you can easily locate User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> System –> and from this location double click on “Turn Off Autoplay”. In the new window opening select enabled and select all drives and close the group policy open earlier.

8. One more time click on windows run command and type “msconfig” and press enter. This will end up with the system configuration utility. Locate Startup and find the file ms32dll and choose enable all and then uncheck ms32dll and click apply. Close all the open window. and emptying the recycle bin and restart. (Plz not that you don’t enter to quotes anywhere mention above and if you want to revert back to the original settings for file extension and hidden files repeat the step 2 and undo what you have done earlier.

9. This should end all your problems mentioned.
