Integrate Yahoo Mail Account into Microsoft Outlook Express: Step by Step Description

In my previous post I have mentioned how you can integrate Gmail Email account with Ooulook Express via POP settings, now in this post I mention the way with which you can enable your yahoo account too into Outlook Express. As this is well known Yahoo doesn’t provide a way to direct configure its pop settings as Google does but still there is a way you can do it!

…. through the mediator software called YPOP and you have to download this before you should proceed

Download YPOP now

Now you the Software Downloaded and probably installed it, if not what are you waiting for… install it… and then follow the instruction described below…

1. Open Outlook Express from Start Menu > Programs.

2. From the tools menu select Accounts…

3. Doing so will pop up the Internet Accounts window to set up the email client if you already have any other account added it will also show up here.

4. First Select Mail Tab and then click on Add…

5. The Internet Connection Wizard pop-up window is now displayed. Enter the desired name you wish to be displayed in the mail box when you send any mail through outlook and click next.

6.  Now give your full yahoo address including @yahoo.com and click next..

7. Now Select POP3 drop down menu from the window arrives and Type “localhost” for both Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) servers.  Click Next..

8.  Now this is the time to provide outlook with the yahoo user id and password so that every time you open outlook it don’t ask for the password ( However you can omit this option by unticking Remember “My Password Option” if you want further privacy but remember doing so will not prevent anybody from viewing the mails already stored in your mailbox only this will cause for the new massage arriving.  Click Next and then Finish…

9.  Now from the Internet Accounts window ( You already know how to where to find mentioned above ) select Localhost and then properties and from the windows comes choose Servers tab and in the bottom tick the checkbox My server requires authentication. and choose settings…

10. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, check the Log on using button and enter your Yahoo! Mail address as the Account name and your Yahoo! Mail password as the password. And click ok

Finished Everything. Now you have configured your Yahoo account with Outlook Express so from now you will receive all your mails direct into Outlook Window but keep not that before you receive any mails make sure the Ypop you which you have downloaded earlier is running you can find in the right task bar area… Now enjoy… I hope you have enjoyed the post so why don’t you subscribe for the daily mailer or comment in the forum about my efforts…
