Search/map files and folders according the sapce it consumes

If you have your hard disk space almost used up, now is the time to free up some space. But this is always a very tough task to search files or folders which are taking up maximum space and manually searching for those files is a very time consuming job. So now the question is how do we map about the files or folders sizes consuming out the Hard disk space.

Consider the above screen shot and notice the boxes; may be some of you wondering what these are. These are all the folders and sub folders; the bigger the box the bigger the size. Clicking on any box will open the files or folders in it in the same way the bigger box for larger files. Now how it can be created?

This was created using a small utility SPACEMONGER which simple-to-use, dandy little tool that quickly shows you how files and folders are using your memory. Its initial interface is primarily blank, with a few buttons at the top. Click the Open button to select which drive’s memory should be checked.

Now as shown in the above box you this application quickly let you trace ow much larger or smaller it is compared to the surrounding boxes. Clicking on a box provides details–actual file sizes and names–and a pop-up menu allows you to delete directly from the SpaceMonger map.

The only problem using the software it is the shareware version and you can use it only for the 30 days for free. But it is highly recommended software for the disk management users.

But the application is shareware it doesn’t mean you cannot use it after 30 days. If you recall one of my earlier posts how you can use trial software beyond 30 days will sure help you tackle this situation.
