Windows 7 Problem: Total Memory and Usable Memory… solution explored!

Recently one of my friend reported a very strange problem that he was using windows 7 it was working fine and there is not any error that he  has counted from the day it was installed. But this is what he has noticed few days back that his computer was not using the full installed memory even though it has a load on it i.e. he has 4GB of RAM & it is just using about 3.25 of RAM.

Though he has already the updated BIOS I have checked on my part and Memory remapping also configured very well from the BIOS. Generally on a 32 bit OS, on most systems it would have disabled.  While Windows 7 is well capable to detect the installed memory but in no way it is utilizing the whole installed memory as shown in the linked image.

So finally i managed to get a way to utilize the full use of installed RSM…. to do so go to Run using windows+r and type msconfig and press enter. Once you do this a box will come up and then go to the boot tab. On advanced options on the boot you will find two options, number of processors and max memory.

Select the box max memory and it should automatically put the amount of memory installed. Once you reboot it will allocate more memory to your sytem but still hold a bit back for hardware requirements. Now after the restarts it was showing the full memory installed like shown below;

That’s I though only mean now the whole memory is usable; wanted to know your opinion… share them in comments
