Apart from that error sometimes Windows Photo Viewer produces an error with the image edit via context menu as “There was a problem starting C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Gallery\PhotoViewer.dll” if this is the massage displayed at your side then you can follow the following solution

Although the best solution is via reinstalling the photo viewer completely. This will fix all the errors automatic from the installation process. If you want to apply this method you can follow the download link here for the setup files.

But if you would like to fix it using the registry tweak then open the registry editor from run (Windows key + r) and type Regedit and press enter.

Now locate the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpegfile\shell\edit, expand it and delete the command sub-key.

Hope this will fix your problems regarding the Photo Viewer.
