It is one of the major problems we have with Windows 7 as sometimes it got freeze while browsing photographs using the Default Photo Viewer. Though it is very specific as on some PCs having windows 7 do well with the same pictures. This problem mainly occurs to the pcs running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. Now if you are also using the Kaspersky and Windows 7 then what to do or are there any alternative.

So if we talk about any alternative then  there are many which you can use to replace the default Photo Viewer, among which Irfan View or Picasa are the best. But if you really want to fix this problem then you should know what is causing the problem. This is particular problem is because of a known incompatibility bug of Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 with Microsoft COM Surrogate (dllhost.exe) which is used by “Windows Photo Viewer” resulting in a locked-down system.  And the solution described below:

1. Go to settings menu from Kaspersky Internet security

2.Now, navigate through “Application Control” tab and than “Applications..” button.

3.  Expand “Microsoft” from the list.

4. Scroll down to COM Surroagte from the list and  double-click to open it’s properties window.

5. Open the “Exclusions” Tab and check all boxes to disable monitoring.
